Funny Things on the Internet

Image
I was browsing my social media pages today and saw the funniest post by a REALTOR who has seen some pretty strage rooms, bizarre decor, and mistakes in listings she has shown to Buyers.  She took photos and posted them.  Here are just two examples.  I use these only to point out that when selling your home, you might be a little too close to it to see it through a Buyer's eyes.  That's why an experienced REALTOR can your best friend.  We can tell you what you might want to do to make changes so that your home will appeal to a Buyer.  Sometimes a simple change can make all the difference; but sometimes, there's just no simple solution for WRONG!  (Ehem...see example above.) This may be amusing to look at, and some of you may be shaking your heads wondering, "What were they thinking!" but in the real world we all want our homes to sell and sell at a fair price.  A home that is presented well, that has general appeal, and is priced correctly is som...

No Chickens Were Harmed During the Making of This "FILM!"

An early morning sales meeting at Real Living Carolina Lifestyles Realty began with the usual announcements and discussions.  However, one of our agents got a great idea somewhere between uploading forms, and website enhancement.  She is our resident expert on the history and lore of the Chatham County area.  One thing led to another and soon it was decided that we should do a little video series on some of the interesting spots around the county and even into other parts of the Triangle.  I am sure that it was the strong coffee but we all began talking at once and soon it was decided that we should do a run out to Chicken Bridge to talk about how it got its name. Like all great ideas, others became enthused and began to make suggestions. Pretty soon, Ashlie was running home to get straw hats while Heather was finding us a live chcken (as a prop).  Lori said she would hold the chicken under one arm while LuAnn did the video recording.  Yours truly went al...

Real Estate, Technology, and REALTORS...Oh My!

How to Keep Your Home Clean while It's on the Market

How to Keep Your Home Clean While It's on the Market Keeping your house neat and tidy is one of the hardest parts of selling - especially if you have kids or pets. Here's how to make things easier: Invest in storage bins.  When a showing comes up, throw everything from the floor, counters and tables into the bins and stow them in a closet. Use a robot vacuum.  Turn it on as you leave the property, and the floor will be spick and span by the time buyers arrive. Declare some rooms off limits.  Keep some rooms closed off to limit messes.
