Funny Things on the Internet

I was browsing my social media pages today and saw the funniest post by a REALTOR who has seen some pretty strage rooms, bizarre decor, and mistakes in listings she has shown to Buyers.  She took photos and posted them.  Here are just two examples.  I use these only to point out that when selling your home, you might be a little too close to it to see it through a Buyer's eyes.  That's why an experienced REALTOR can your best friend.  We can tell you what you might want to do to make changes so that your home will appeal to a Buyer.  Sometimes a simple change can make all the difference; but sometimes, there's just no simple solution for WRONG!  (Ehem...see example above.)

This may be amusing to look at, and some of you may be shaking your heads wondering, "What were they thinking!" but in the real world we all want our homes to sell and sell at a fair price.  A home that is presented well, that has general appeal, and is priced correctly is something that is attainable if you use a professional. When it comes to staging your home for a quicker sale or a higher price, I am here to help you.  I can give you the right advice, hook you up with a staging service or provide preliminary tips. Yes, I might have to do a bit of convincing to get you to paint those kitchen cabinets (see below) but in the long run, your home will sell quicker and you will be moving into your new home sooner.

Frank Lloyd Wright-ish

I never really thought about the beauty of the simple lines and open spaces that were used in the homes designed by the famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright until recently, when the company that my husband and I work with (Lindal Cedar Homes) began designing homes with the permission of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and two FLW architecture-trained architects authorized to design these homes.  Now I'm a huge fan.  By repositioning walls to open rooms, raising ceilings, enlarging bathrooms and closets we bring a new look to a timeless design. If I see one more post, article, or email about Covid-19 AKA Coronavirus, I'm going to scream!  My inbox is full of notices from businesses telling me what they are doing to protect their employees, their patrons, and themselves. It's important, but after ten or twelve of these that carry the same message, it is a bit overwhelming.   These are serious times, and I don't want to minimize that, but while we are hunkering down in our homes, isolating ourselves and 'enjoying' some down time, we do begin to notice that the walls need paint, the rail on the stairs is splintering, or the kitchen appliances have seen better days.
