I Really Shouldn't Let Anyone Know About This...

I should keep this a secret.  By writing about this, I'm opening this up to everyone.  Well, I guess I just feel like sharing to set the record straight.  My husband, Skip read that Raleigh, NC was the number 3 location in the U.S. for Millenials to live. Sure.  I can see that.  Raleigh has a lot to offer.  Of course it is also considered on some lists to be the number one place to live. I decided to research how various cities ranked for the number one place to live for various reasons, and since Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, (locally known and grouped together as The Triangle) are often listed as number one in myriad categories.  Statistics aren't out yet for 2020 but I am willing to bet that we will make it on some lists again since it seems to be on everyone's radar these days. "Why?" you may ask.  Besides a great lifestyle offering something for everyone, relatively low costs, and great working environments, there is also tremendous growth with businesses establishing themselves in this locale, industry building factories, developers building more housing (lots of it!) and people populating this area in large numbers.  Yes!  Rapid growth means more opportunity for investors since there will be an increasing demand for housing, food, amenities, etc.

Now here's the secret that some people don't know yet:  there's another area in the Triangle that is growing really quickly.  It's Pittsboro.  Yes, that little town just south of Chapel Hill in Chatham County.  It's that area that has been pretty rural, unnoticed, with sleepy little neighborhoods, some boasting larger lots, rolling green lawns, pretty golf courses, lakes, hiking and biking trails, and idyllic lifestyles.  It's also that place where people still wave 'hello' to each other, where they gather for town hall meetings, where they meet in the town center for breakfast, where they get out and walk, where they shop locally, where they enjoy healthy eating and healthy living, where the ecosystem is important to them, and where people still smile at each other.

Growth and development are imminent.  A multiplex cinema, a hotel, a performance theater,  medical buildings, shopping, restaurants, and lots and lots of houses in every price and size are all about to appear.  Dirt is moving, trucks are rolling, roads are widening.  Every day, I see something new.  It's fun to watch the change and to think about what that will do for our economy.  Still keeping an eye to responsible and smart growth, the developers are answering tough questions and are promising innovative designs and ideas.  Psst...keep an eye on Chatham Park!

For now, Skip and I are really enjoying some of the new options that are open to us.  When I ask "What do you want for dinner?" he now can offer a quick drive to one of our favorite and affordable restaurants nearby.  Oh, what luxury! Anyway, keep this quiet so we don't have to compete with too many people for a table. Okay?  But if you want to know more, give me a call.  I'm always happy to show people around and even happier to sell them a house.
